We hope you have found inspiration for your holiday on our website. We are constantly working to improve, so if there is anything you feel is missing from our website, we would be very happy to hear from you.
Below, we have gathered some practical tips regarding matters such as payment, key collection and emergencies during your stay in the holiday home.
Key collection from 3:00 p.m.
Keys can be collected from our office at Horns Bjerge 4, 6857 Blåvand.
We aim to have the holiday homes ready from 3:00 p.m. If your holiday home is ready earlier, you will automatically receive a text message on your mobile phone.
If your holiday home has an electronic door handle, you can drive directly to the property and enter the code. A few days before arrival, you will receive an email with your door code and another email containing a link where you can enter the meter readings, allowing us to register your arrival. Any spare keys can be collected from the office, along with any additional services you have ordered, such as bed linen, cots/high chairs and a barbecue.
Arriving after 5:00 pm on Saturdays
If you arrive after 5:00 pm, when our office closes, or on a day other than the one stated in your contract, please let us know. Your key will be placed in a key box in the entrance area of our office, which is open 24 hours a day. You will receive the code for the key box by text message on your mobile phone on the day of arrival, approximately 30 minutes before the office closes.
If you have ordered bed linen, a cot or a high chair, please collect these items from the entrance area of our office. Please return them to the same place when you depart.
Advice for holiday guests: How to avoid attracting wolves near residential areas
Wolves do not belong in towns. However, a wolf may occasionally come close to built-up areas—often these are young wolves that are curious and not yet familiar with the area. A wolf passing near homes is generally neither dangerous nor unusual, but it is important that we do not, intentionally or unintentionally, make it attractive for wolves to remain close to people.
Do not feed deer Do not feed roe deer or other deer near holiday-home or residential areas. This may attract wolves because deer are their natural prey.
Do not leave food waste outside Make sure that rubbish and food scraps are not left exposed outside the house. They may attract wolves. Wolf pups in particular are curious and can quickly learn to associate houses and people with food.
Do not let your dog roam freely Wolves may be interested in dogs because they can perceive them as members of the same species. Therefore, keep your dog under supervision—especially in areas where wolves are present and particularly in the evening and at night. Please also note that allowing dogs to roam freely is prohibited.
Help with monitoring You can help the authorities and the local community by reporting any wolf sightings. This is especially relevant if a wolf appears unusually bold or does not keep its distance. If it can be done safely, please take a photo or video as documentation.
The Nordsee Highlights map is your new tool for finding inspiration and exploring Blåvand and large parts of Denmark before and during your stay. Open it on your computer and click on the areas you would like to explore. When you select a destination, the various hotspots allow you to learn more about the local shops, attractions, restaurants and much more available at your holiday destination. Visit the map here.
The map went live in January 2026 and is continuously being developed and expanded with new destinations and businesses.
Utility meter readings – automatic water meter reading
Some holiday homes have automatic water meter readings. This means that we receive your water consumption figures directly from the waterworks, so you do not need to look for a water meter. You can monitor your water consumption on your guest page.
Cleaning
Please book final cleaning no later than three days before departure. Otherwise, please leave the house in the same condition in which you would wish to find it.
Departure
Departure is at 10:00 am, or at 9:00 am on Fridays and Saturdays if you have booked final cleaning. Please return linen in the white bags by the office, and return cots, high chairs and barbecues to our office. We settle utility charges upon departure. If you leave outside office hours, please place any keys in the black post box in the entrance area of our office. Please also return any additional rented items there.
We are here to help!
If you arrive at a holiday home where something is not as it should be—whether it concerns cleaning, the condition of the house, or any other faults or defects—please do not hesitate to contact us. We are here to help! You are welcome to send photos to info@feriekompagniet.dk and call us. Please always remember to provide the house number.
Technician visit
For holiday homes with a pool, our technician will stop by unannounced during the week to check the water quality. If you experience any other issues, our technician will be happy to visit as soon as possible, although we may not be able to resolve everything on the same day. Dogs must not be left alone in the house, both for the dog's sake and for our technician's safety, as we will not enter if a dog is home alone.
We have a spare key to the house, so you do not need to wait at home and can enjoy your holiday.
Where should ash from the wood-burning stove and barbecue be disposed of?
Ash from the wood-burning stove and barbecue may be placed in the general waste container. However, the ash must be cold and securely wrapped.
IF ASH IS POURED DIRECTLY INTO THE WASTE CONTAINER, IT WILL NOT BE EMPTIED. SHOULD THIS HAPPEN, YOU WILL BE HELD FINANCIALLY RESPONSIBLE FOR CLEANING, EMPTYING AND ANY DAMAGE TO THE CONTAINER.
Please follow these steps:
Always use an ash bucket to store the ash until it is cold.
Once the ash is cold, place it in a rubbish bag, preferably using two bags.
Tie the rubbish bag securely and place it carefully in the general waste container.
Emergencies
In the entrance area of our office, you will always find an emergency phone number. You can call this number for help in an EMERGENCY—for example, if there is no electricity in the house.
Bringing your dog on holiday
Dogs must not be left alone in the holiday home. From 1 April to 30 September, dogs must be kept on a lead on the beach.
Mobile number
If your holiday home is ready before 3:00 pm, we’ll send you a text message on the day of arrival.
Please provide a mobile number when making your booking so we can send you this arrival update.
Travelling with an electric car?
We love the idea of electric cars, which is why we have installed two CLEVER charging points at our office for our guests to use. If you do not have a CLEVER subscription, you can purchase a charging session at our office. Please do not leave your car at the charging point longer than necessary, as the chargers are in high demand. A charging session costs DKK 250.
If you are travelling with an electric car, please note that the vehicle must NOT be charged at the holiday home unless the property description specifically states that EV charging is available. Unfortunately, many of the original holiday homes in Blåvand do not have sufficient electrical capacity or approved electrical installations to handle the load required for charging.
Smoking
As a general rule, all our holiday homes are non-smoking.
You can check whether your pre-booked holiday home is non-smoking on our website under the facilities listed for the specific property.
Smoking outdoors is, of course, still permitted.
Benefits for Feriekompagniet guests
You can view the benefits via the guest link, which you will receive three days before arrival.
